My name is Danielle Prizzi and I am a senior at Ithaca College, located in Ithaca, NY.  I am expected to graduate in May 2013 with a B.A. in  Environmental Studies and a B.A. in Anthropology.  I have primarily concentrated my education on community wellness through sustainable living, integrative and alternative healing systems, and plant studies. Having studied abroad and traveled throughout college (to places like Mumbai, India, Northern Scotland, and Israel) I have been exposed to different forms of spirituality, religion, and sustainability on worldwide scale. These experiences have shaped my current and future goals and aspirations.

A large part of my college experience has involved integrating myself within the greater Ithaca Community as well as on Ithaca College's campus.  Throughout the last four years, I have worked for the Environmental Studies and Sciences (ENVS) department as an assistance to the Administrative Assistant, interned and worked for   Cayuga Nature Center, a local non-profit focusing on nature-based, ecological education for children and young adults, ages 4-18, worked on a local 4-acre on a organic berry farm on eco-village Ithaca, interned at the Ithaca Community Acupuncture (affordable acupuncture with pricing on a sliding scale), as well as worked selling produce for a local 35-acre organic vegetable CSA farm.  My senior year I have become involved in food justice networking meetings to discuss and work towards an equitable, local food system.

After graduation I intend to stay in Ithaca, working on an organic farm, teaching nature-based education, and attending herbalism school.  In my future I plan to further my study and practice of herbal medicine, reiki (energy work), holistic nutrition, midwifery.
